RTGOM-Si01 (RTGOM-Si01 Data Sheet)

The RTGOM series of optical monitors are industrial-hardened, precision light detection devices targeted for use in process monitoring applications.  The device is USB-powered, with on-board microprocessor and automatic gain control.   The RTGOM-Si01 includes a Silicon detector for monitoring within the 350nm – 1100nm range.  Its wide dynamic range (4 decades) provides precision monitoring for all your converting needs.  The software (see here), included with the purchase of any RTGOM, allows simple, multi-channel system configuration.  Additionally, with a rich API and flexible source code licensing options, the RTGOM gives you everything you need to quickly create your own custom monitoring systems.

The following Application Note describes how the RTGOM and RTGLS devices are assembled into an in-line, in-situ optical monitoring system.

RTGOM-02 Series (RTGOM-02 Data Sheet)

The next-generation RTGOM-02 from L and M Instruments extends the dynamic range, protocol support, and use-cases of the successful RTGOM-01 radiometer. Dynamic range is extended from 4 to 8 decades based on an intelligent, high-speed, auto-ranging light-sensing front-end. Protocol support has been extended to support USB interfacing as well as 4-20mA output, DC voltage output, and multi-drop RS485 support. In addition to the new features, new use-cases involve “headless” system design facilitated by isolated digital inputs and a DC voltage output to drive a meter display, as well as externally-connected diode connection to allow high signal-to-noise ratio, multi-wavelength monitoring in tight spaces. The device also supports and extends the L and M Instruments API for backward compatibility with custom software designs. L and M is introducing four new detector modules based on the RTGOM-02 as listed below, while also supporting custom photodiodes and light ingest mounts based on OEM needs:

RTGOM-02-GaP, for monitoring from 190 to 450nm, targeted at UV protection coatings
RTGOM-02-Si, for monitoring from 350 to 1100nm, targeted at metal deposition monitoring

RTGLS-Ar01 (RTGLS-Ar01 Data Sheet)

The RTGLS is an industrial-hardened, broad-spectrum light source designed for UV, visible, and IR  transmittance or reflectance monitoring.   The device includes a high-efficiency Argon lamp, packaged in a hardened enclosure equally applicable for rugged industrial environments.  The RTGLS also includes a retaining ring and O-ring seal for the addition of customer-supplied filters or diffusers.

RTGLS-Ar02 

The RTGLS-02 is an Argon filled incandescent lamp with a Zinc-Selenide window.  This configuration minimizes visible light output, while providing strong IR output up to 5um.  The IR source is packaged in a hardened enclosure for use in rugged industrial environments.  The RTGLS-02 also includes a retaining ring and O-ring seal for the addition of customer-supplied filters or diffusers.

MTOMK-01 “Metal Thickness Optical Monitoring Kit”

The MTOMK-01 is a pre-packed kit including one RTGOM-Si01, one RTGLS-Ar01, one 610nm long pass filter to be mounted on the RTGOM-Ar01, and one 850nm long pass filter to be mounted on the RTGOM-Si01.  The 610nm filter provides dust resistance combined with a visual lamp-lit indicator.  The 850nm filter suppresses ambient light while providing an excellent optical response for measuring metal thickness.  The kit provides all the major components for a single channel optical monitor, at a reduced kitted cost.  Multiple kits can be ordered to produce a multi-channel bench-top or in-situ monitoring system.
